The History department of the college started functioning since the inception of Uttar Barpeta College in 1991. The department got affiliated to Gauhati University in 2004.The department has a glorious history in the field of educational as well as cultural achievements.Every year the department produces qualified students for higher studies. Besides academic aspects the department gives the students opportunities to develop socially by organising seminar, Extension activities, Educational tour, Excursion etc..

The vision of the department of History of Uttar Barpeta College is to uphold human values among the students and upfit socio-political consciousness among them.It also aims at maintaining the growth and development of teacher education in the state and also to establish co- ordination between community and education through various extension program’s.

Activities:

Objective:
